About Us

The purpose of the Winter River-Tracadie Bay Watershed Association (WRTBWA) is to protect and enhance the health and aesthetic qualities of the Winter River – Tracadie Bay watershed. Our enhancement work includes planting trees, cleaning streams, building brush mats, and many more tasks. We work to protect the watershed through educational initiatives, collaborating with farmers, and advocating for water conservation. Detailed information about the work we have done each year can be found in our field work page.

People with varied interests and skills from across the watershed provide their time and support to make this purpose a reality. We have some paid staff members (mostly students who work during the summer), a dedicated volunteer board, volunteers who help with certain projects or events, and individuals who just like to join us for a hike or snowshoe tour through our beautiful area.
